I am very excited to be one of 6 artists selected to participate in Artists at Work! I had a really good time sharing my art making space and creative process during my studio visit and interview. I look forward to sharing the work I have made for this exhibition with these fantastic local artists! Our work will be on display throughout the month of September at Little D Gallery in the Paseo arts district with the opening reception being held on Friday, September 7th 6p to 10p.
I’ve been hard at work these past couple of months creating a new series of mixed media drawings. I’m using the mixed media techniques I’ve developed over the past year or two and applying them to a works on paper style of presentation. I will be showing this new work at CMG Art Gallery in the Paseo District of OKC in July. Join me at the reception on the 6th!
Big thanks to OVAC for providing me the funds to make my frames through their professional basics grant. If you are an Oklahoma based artist and are not yet a member of this group, I highly recommend you do so now! Their grant opportunities are open four times a year, they bring in local professionals for their ASK workshops and tirelessly work to help maintain the growth of the Oklahoma arts community.
Have you been to the UCOCHK Boathouse in awhile? If not, you have to come check out the current exhibit on display! The show was curated by Narciso Argüelles and sponsored by the Oklahoma Latino Cultural Center and Inclusion in Art. The exhibit serves to showcase emerging, mid-career and established artists of color in the state of Oklahoma.
Join us the last Saturday of March (3/31/18) for the closing reception!
Join me in supporting the non profit group out of Oklahoma City, Inclusion in Art. This group is dedicated to promoting cultural diversity in the art community by developing programs and opportunities for Oklahoma artists of color. I am currently an active member of the board for this group and we have big plans for 2018. The goal is set for $2000 and the deadline to donate is January 3rd 2018. This money will be used to fund programming and opportunities for the upcoming year. Please like, share and donate! Every little bit counts.
